Thank you, Tacoma Urban Sketchers!

Tacoma you did it, and you did it perfectly!!

Frances Buckmaster, local organizer extraordinaire, and her team of volunteer red-shirts put on an event that will long be remembered by all who attended.

What fun and what a pleasure to spend the weekend in Tacoma with 150, or so, like-minded Urban Sketchers...I drove all the way home today, 250 miles, give or take, on Cloud Nine!

Hope to see you again next summer in Chicago at the Symposium, and at the"5th Annual West Coast Urban Sketchers Sketch Crawl, which will be taken outa-the-box (USA), and into VANCOUVER, BC, on August 11-13, 2017. #uskvan5

Thanks to all who were there this weekend, you were lovely!! ‪#‎usktac4‬

Welcome to Tacoma!

Join us in August, 2016, in another fabulous west coast city, Tacoma, Washington, for the fourth in a series of annual west coast urban sketchers sketch crawl events. We have been in the San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, and San Diego over the past three summers, and this coming summer we offer up Tacoma, the second largest urban area in the state of Washington. Tacoma offers an historically and architecturally rich downtown area that cries out for the sketcher/artist to pay it homage, and we are excited about sharing that opportunity with the global urbansketcher community.

Because we offer no workshops or demonstrations, these annual west coast events are FREE. Each is designed for simply a few days of pure sketching in another of our fabulous west coast cities with others who share the same passions about sketching in urban environments.

If you are coming from out of town, please find a listing of accommodations in the right margin, and there are maps embedded in the agenda below showing where each event will be held. Also check out the Tacoma Link Light Rail in the right margin to learn about how free and easy one can travel from one end of downtown to the other.
